VISAS

CURRENCY
The currency used in Montpellier is the Euro (EUR). Bank notes are most regularly available in values of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 whilst coins come in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10 ,20 and 50 cents, and 1 and 2 euros.
CREDIT CARDS
Major credit and debit cards are accepted widely in shops, restaurants hotels. When travelling by taxi it is best to use cash as many taxis do not have card payment facilities. American Express and Diners cards may not be accepted at some establishments.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE FACILITIES
A number of exchange offices are located in central Montpellier and at the airports. Please enquire at your hotel reception for the closest office and opening hours.
ELECTRONICS
The electrical current in France is 220V/50Hz. Round European-style two-pin plugs are used.

The time zone in Montpellier is Central Europe (GMT +1).
